The McKissick Center was designed with the community in mind. Not so long ago, the McKissick Center was an abandoned school. Established in July of 2015, it now serves as the home of Pickens County Meals on Wheels and provides a community focal point that exclusively focuses on the three leading threats of aging: hunger, isolation and loss of independence.
The overarching vision is to use the space to both provide direct programs and services to hundreds of seniors across Pickens County and as a social-enterprise that will support our mission all year long.
