Pickens County Meals on Wheels, Inc. (“PCMOW,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a nonprofit organization located at 349 Edgemont Avenue, Liberty, South Carolina 29657. This policy describes how we handle information collected through PCMOW.org.

We collect information you choose to provide when you:

• request services or apply for home-delivered meals;
• apply to volunteer or enroll in a program;
• contact us, inquire about an event or facility, or submit a sponsorship inquiry;
• subscribe to our newsletter;
• purchase food through Savor Your Thyme; or
• make a donation through Every.org.

Depending on the form, this may include your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, date of birth, emergency-contact details, availability, program eligibility answers, communication preferences, order details, donation details, and the contents of your message.

Our hosting and security providers may also process technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, pages requested, timestamps, referring page, and security or error logs.

We use information to:

• review applications and requests and contact you about them;
• coordinate volunteers, programs, events, rentals, and sponsorships;
• process purchases and donations, maintain order records, and notify staff;
• send newsletters you requested and honor unsubscribe choices;
• operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website; and
• meet legal, accounting, safety, and fraud-prevention obligations.

We do not sell or rent personal information to data brokers or third-party advertisers.

We use service providers to operate the website and fulfill requests. They process information on our behalf or under their own terms when you use their service.

Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect a person’s safety or our rights, or as part of an organizational transaction permitted by law. We do not authorize service providers to use information submitted to PCMOW for their own unrelated marketing.

Shop payments are processed by Stripe, and donations are processed by Every.org. PCMOW does not receive or store complete payment-card numbers. We receive transaction information needed for receipts, order fulfillment, donor records, accounting, and support, such as contact information, amount, payment status, items purchased, and a transaction identifier.

When you use Stripe or Every.org, their own privacy notices also apply to information they collect directly from you.

The site uses limited browser storage to remember whether you have seen the homepage introduction and to keep items in your Savor Your Thyme cart. Administrative areas use an essential session cookie for authorized staff access.

Volunteer and Home Delivered Meals application forms use Google reCAPTCHA to detect spam, fraud, and abuse. reCAPTCHA may process technical and interaction data and sets the necessary _GRECAPTCHA cookie for risk analysis. Google processes this reCAPTCHA customer data as a service provider for security purposes.

We do not currently use advertising pixels or behavioral advertising cookies on PCMOW.org.

We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose described here, our operational records, and legal or accounting obligations. Retention periods vary by record type. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Please do not submit medical records, Social Security numbers, payment-card numbers, or other unnecessary sensitive information through a general website message field.

You may unsubscribe from newsletter emails using the link in any newsletter. You may also ask us to access, correct, or delete information associated with you. We may need to verify your identity, and we may retain records when required or permitted by law.

Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide additional privacy rights. We will respond to verified requests as required by applicable law.

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online directly from children under 13. A parent, guardian, or authorized adult should submit program requests involving a child.

We may update this policy when our website or practices change. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date above. Material changes will be highlighted when required by law.
